On the afternoon of November 16, the undergraduate Preparatory Party Member Training Class of the College of Media and International Culture, Zhejiang University, for the fall and winter of 2024, organized a group visit to the thematic exhibition Guidance Through Adversity: Inspiring Truth and Cultivating Virtue, which celebrates the spirit of educators. Through on-site visits, stories of educators, and video presentations, the activity aimed to guide participants in deeply learning and appreciating the spirit of educators, strengthening their ideals and beliefs, and remaining true to their original aspirations while embracing their mission.
The exhibition featured rich content with profound significance, showcasing President Xi Jinping’s heartfelt messages to educators, the educational stories of 45 outstanding Qiushi professors, rare artifacts, and the remarkable achievements of Zhejiang University’s efforts in building a world-class faculty. The event sought to inspire faculty and students to carry forward the spirit of educators and rise to the responsibilities of the times.
The exhibition began with the theme Guidance Through Adversity, prominently displaying President Xi Jinping’s important statements and messages on education. These highlighted the Party and the nation’s deep commitment to and prioritization of education, setting a clear direction for educators. Participants attentively observed, listened to detailed explanations, and reflected on the noble mission and responsibility associated with being an educator.
Guided by the narrators, the touching stories of 45 esteemed Qiushi professors, who dedicated themselves to cultivating talents for the Party and nurturing future leaders for the nation, were vividly presented. Among them were leading figures in research fields contributing to national scientific advancements, front-line educators nurturing successive generations of outstanding students, and prominent representatives in social service and cultural heritage. Rare exhibits, such as manuscripts, patents, and textbooks, offered participants an immersive experience of the profound legacy and lofty spirit of Zhejiang University’s educators.
